Managing Community Records: Uploading Unit Documents in Perfect HOA

Documents that belong to one property, such as a lease, an architectural approval or a violation notice, are best kept on that unit’s profile. When a question comes up months later, everything is a click away.

1. Open the Unit

  • Click Units and search for the property.
  • Click the eye icon on its row to open the unit profile.

2. Open the Documents Tab

Click the Documents tab. It works like a filing cabinet for this one unit, with folders and files.

3. Upload and Organize

  • Right-click empty space and choose New folder if you want folders, such as Leases or Correspondence. Right-click a file or folder to rename, move, star, download or delete it.
  • Drag files in, or use the upload button to browse your computer and confirm. The unit’s Documents tab works the same way as the community Documents library.
  • PDFs are the best choice for important records because they are hard to alter.

Tip: Double-check the address at the top of the unit profile before you upload. A document filed under the wrong unit is easy to miss and could be seen by the wrong owner.

Documents can also be saved automatically: when you generate a Statement of Account, a copy can be saved to the unit’s Documents.
